In a field notoriously dominated by men, the pertinent push for a non-male inclusive music industry is one that is growing to be embraced by punters and influencers alike. Frustrated by the overwhelming dismissal of non-male talent in events within the region, Brisbane's legendary venue The Zoo runs it's humble Girls To The Front! showcase, aiming to fill the gap in the market by booking a gender diverse lineup focussed on celebrating the thriving presence of talent in Brisbane and beyond. Closing in on their fifth and most monumental showcase, the latest GTTF is no different.

It only makes sense then that this show is fronted Sydney's illustrious singer/songwriter Montaigne, one of this country's most outspoken and captivating young lyricists. Since the success of her acclaimed 2016 debut album 'Glorious Heights', her stunning art-pop sound has gone on to brand her one of the most unique and engrossing artists in the past few years.

Joining her are a range of South-East Queensland's finest; Gold Coast's 4-piece Ivey bring their iconic surfy, pop-rock flavour, sure to bring the party with their latest release Out Of Time turning heads nationwide. Another of Goldy's breakout acts, Ella Fence will be celebrating the release of her latest Hollow Drum - her cinematic, electro pop twang and confessional bravado making for a perfect fit to the evening.

Bringing her delicate balance of hip-hop beats, atmospheric textures, and elegant vocals, Brisbane's May Lyn splits the evening, accompanied prior by alternative hip-hop artist GNIGHTZ and her unique R&B and rap flair.

True to the message of GTTF, this fifth instalment will not only showcase female talent in music, but with visual artists too. Setting up a makeshift gallery for these local creators to reach new audiences, it's an addition which hopes to promote collaboration and talk within all creative industries.

This is an 18+ event.
