Check the calendar and cancel any plans you have because The Suburban Series is back in full swing for it’s first birthday party Saturday July 7th and you're invited!

After great success from the last two volumes, The Suburban Series want to celebrate it’s first birthday and what’s better than another series to say a big Hip-Hip-Hooray to the past series and a big three cheers for the future to come!

Coming back to the Zoo, home of The Suburban Series, the line up is tastier than the cake your Aunt Jan made for your birthday that one time, and will leave you dreaming about it for the rest of your life (much like your Aunt Jan’s cake).

Joining them at the birthday bash are local surf-rockers Hey Baby! and psychedelic power houses Cassowarys who will be releasing their debut EP on the night which will have you dancing at the seams.

If you like King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard then hold onto your party hats because Disco Indians will be there carry on that psychedelic goodness. Releasing their music video for fresh single Surfin’ Crew in March, these cool cats go down best with a beer and a piece of $5 choccy cake from your local Woolies.

With a strong female lead and rock tunes to set you back a couple of decades and get ready to party like it’s 1999, The Eagle Junction are what a mix of spiced rum and coke would sound like- smooth and ready to make you groove. Better than a prize in pass the parcel, get keen to rock out with these legends.

Battle of the Bands finalists, Dopamine will make sure to help you get your fix of indie-rock with flurries of guitar and top-notch tunes, keep your eyes and ears open for this juicy Brissy band to hop on stage.

As The Suburban Series is all about that homely, inclusive feeling, make sure to come along and support some groovy up-comers in their home venue, while also celebrating with decor that will remind you of the times your mum decked out the backyard for your birthday.

For only $10 online what’s a better way to catch a bunch of crazy cool local talent than with your close friends and family at one of the hottest events the Brisbane music scene has to offer?

Without the ongoing support, this birthday celebration wouldn’t be happening. So grab your mates, chuck on that crazy party shirt you got from an op-shop and head to the Zoo Saturday the 7th of July. You can also snag your tickets for $15 at the door on the night unless sold out prior.

This is an 18+ event.
